Dave Meyer

As a former telecom executive (MCI, Nextel, XO Communications), Dave Meyer always took pride in building strong teams. He believed so strongly in the power of teamwork, that in 2002 he left the telecom industry to follow his passion of developing the next generation of leaders. Since that time he has become an expert speaker and trainer, mentor coach, and author.  Dave believes the only difference between obstacles and stepping stones, are the way they are used.

 

Dave has a BS in Business Administration from Elmhurst College, is a Certified Behavioral Consultant specializing in the use of DISC through the Institute for Motivational Living and has been certified by CEO Partnership in Assessing, Training, and Coaching Emotional IntelligenceDave is also an expert in the implementation of Organizational and Personal 360° Feedback systems.

 

Dave combines his certifications with personal experience to provide leadership development that is based on real world situations for real world leaders.  As a leader, Dave witnessed how his own performance dramatically improved with an investment in personal development.  He believes that this investment has a direct impact on the bottom line, with improved performance and reduced employee turnover.  Dave believes that personal development is not an event but is a process that requires understanding, a change in perspective, and ongoing reinforcement to ensure that new thoughts and behaviors are fully integrated.

 

Since 2002 Dave has authored numerous articles that have been published on a variety of magazines and websites worldwide. He was a contributing author to the popular book, Creating Workplace Community:  Motivation, published in 2004.

 

Over the years, Dave has facilitated a variety of programs on communication, conflict resolution, team development and behavioral interviewing.  He has also used his expertise in leadership and team dynamics to create custom solutions and workshops including:  Adventures in Leadership, The Two Faces of a Manager and The Essential Elements of a Team.

 

Dave builds trust through a personal rapport with clients and has a genuine belief that the laws of abundance and attraction mean that the best ideas should be shared with all.

Laurie Valaer is an experienced facilitator whose education, work experience, and personal development expertise give her a unique edge on team building, employee engagement, and organizational success.

 

Laurie has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Denver. She is certified in Assessing, Training, and Coaching Emotional Intelligence throughCEO Partnership and is an Inscape Publishing Certified DiSC® Trainer. Laurie is also a graduate of The Coaches Training Institute’s Co-Active coach training program.

 

Laurie has developed and facilitated transformational workshops on critical workplace topics.  These key topics include: Effective Communication, Emotional Intelligence, Stress Management, and Team Building. Laurie has worked with an array of clients for these seminars including: IBM, Raytheon Company, Regis University, Lockheed Martin, Society of Women Engineers, Paradise Bakery, and the University of Denver.

 

Laurie’s effective leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills have been fine-tuned through 15 years of professional software engineering experience in the defense industry.  Through her work with Hughes Aircraft Company, Raytheon Company, Lockheed Martin, and Scitor Corporation, Laurie gained valuable expertise in technical and personal mentoring, team management and organization, conflict resolution, interviewing, software marketing demonstrations, employee and customer training, and creating effective team interactions.

 

Laurie believes that an organization’s culture is the key to its success.  Creating a culture where employees feel valued, supported by the company, and empowered to get the job done, is the most significant task a leader can undertake.  Laurie believes that giving employees the foundation of a solid, positive culture will help build strong, confident teams that are prepared and willing to meet the challenges you put before them.
